Application Support Analyst

BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Responsible for supporting business software programs to ensure they efficiently and effectively fulfill business objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

A. Create and deploy feedback mechanisms for end users. Analyze results, make recommendations for support process improvement, and implement change.

B. Respond to incoming work orders from end users to resolve application and software issues in servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems.

C. Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required.

D. Provide problem resolution to end users of business software, including installing and upgrading software and configuring systems and applications.

E. Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions, and actions taken, through to final resolution.

F. Coordinate with software vendors as needed in order to resolve support issues.

G. Evaluate resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated or systemic problems.

H. Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, Computer Support Specialist team, Network Infrastructure team, and end users.

I. Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-up to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.

J. Post software updates, drivers, knowledge base articles, and frequently asked questions resources on the district intranet to assist with Tier I problem resolution.

K. Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications being considered for upgrade or purchase.

L. Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.

M. Provide employee onboarding training to prepare staff when they begin their job duties. Provide ongoing training to enable end users to effectively use the business software.

N. Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.

O. Responsible for technology energy conservation practices throughout the district.

P. Monitor and comply with federal, state, and district policies and procedures.

Q. Perform other duties as assigned.
