The School Nurse hired for this position will be working half their time at Knollwood Elementary School and the other half of their time at North Middle School.

School Nurses strengthen and facilitate the educational process by improving and protecting the health status of children and assistance in the removal or modification of health-related barriers to the learning process. The major focus of school nursing services is the prevention of illness and disability, and the early detection and correction of health problems by implementing health screenings and providing health education. The School Nurse works collaboratively with the Health Services and Education team to develop individualized health care plans (IHP) and emergency action plans (EAP) to consistently align with safe practices, program procedures, and district policy.
